Marino's father was Cecilio Cob (Nuñez) and his mother was Mujer Cecilio.  His paternal grandparents were Dámaso Cob (Reyes) and Francisca Nuñez.  He was the third of five children.  He had three brothers and a sister, named Anastasio, Daniel, Teodoro and Valeriana.
