George was born on September 15th, 1877 in Carter, Ashley Co, AR. George's father was James Preston Goyne and his mother was Laura Jane Tatum. His paternal grandparents were Hiram Davis Goyne Sr. and Susannah Lupo. He had three brothers and three sisters, named James, John, Harvey, Susie, Minnie and Ardeller. He was the second oldest of the seven children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Benjamin and Effie. He died due to natural causes or old age at the age of 91 on December 25th, 1968 in Monticello, Drew Co, AR.
