William was born on September 13th, 1835.  William's father was John B.  Faucett and his mother was Sarah Elizabeth Beard.  His paternal grandparents were John Faucett and Mary Patterson. He had two brothers and three sisters, named James, Chesley, Rebecca, Margaret and Sarah.  He was the third oldest of the six children.
