Floyd was born on March 11th, 1922 in Chalk Bluff, AR. Floyd's father was Robert John (Cecil) McAllister and his mother was Lona Kathleen Kemp. His maternal grandparents were George Washington Kemp and Harriett (Tommie) Thomas Kemp. He had a brother named Cecil. He was the younger of the two children. He had three half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Bugs, Junior, Travis, Van, Lona, Barbara and Mary. He died at the age of 85 on March 6th, 2008.
