Reuben was born on November 19th, 1842 in AL.  Reuben's father was William Kemp and his mother was L. Delina A. Jermon.  His paternal grandparents were Henry Kemp and Harriett Bradley. He had two brothers and four sisters, named William, James, Clista, Harriett, Martha and Amanda.  He was the oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 78 on December 1st, 1920 in Leake Co, MS.
