Ardeller was born in 1882 in Carter, Ashley Co, AR. Ardeller's father was James Preston Goyne and her mother was Laura Jane Tatum. Her paternal grandparents were Hiram Davis Goyne Sr. and Susannah Lupo. She had four brothers and two sisters, named George, James, John, Harvey, Susie and Minnie. She was the third youngest of the seven children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Benjamin and Effie. She died at the age of 56 in 1938.
