František Josef was born in 1711.  František Josef's father was František Karel Berchtold z Uherèic and his mother was Estera Isabela PRAŽMOVÁ Z BÍLKOVA.  His paternal grandparents were Matyáš Arnošt Berchtold z Uherèic and Ludmila ŠVIHOVSKÁ Z RÝZMBURKA. He had three brothers named František Antonín, Adam Ignác and Karel Norbert.  He died at the age of 65 in 1776.
