Joannes was born in 1630 in Steenhuffel, Belgium.  Joannes' father was Jan De Boeck and his mother was Anna Lemmens.  His paternal grandfather was Huilbrecht De Boeck and his paternal grandmother is Ursulla van der Stappen. He had five brothers and a sister, named Philippus, Huybrecht, Robertus, Guillam, Gerardus and Margaretha.  He was the fourth oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 58 on May 20th, 1688 in Merchtem, Brabant Wallon, Belgium.
