Eliza was born about 1832 in East Malling, Kent, England.1   Eliza's father is Nathaniel Browning and her mother is Caroline Pearse. She has four brothers and three sisters, named William, Thomas, George, John, Caroline, Elizabeth and Anne.  She is the oldest of the eight children.
