Jan Franciscus was born in August 1759 in Londerzeel, Brabant Wallon, Belgium.  Jan Franciscus' father is Cornelius Blommaerts and his mother is Elizabeth Van Assche.  His paternal grandfather was Franciscus Blommaerts and his paternal grandmother is Maria Doms. He had four brothers and a sister, named Franciscus, Jan, Petrus, Josephus and Joanna.  He is the youngest of the six children.
