Sarah Ashley Cooper

Sarah was born in 1652 in Southampton, Hampshire, , England. Sarah's father was 1st Earl of Shaftsbury Anthony of Shaftsbury Ashley-Cooper and her mother was Lady Frances Cecil. Her paternal grandparents were Sir John of Rockburne Cooper and Anne Elizabeth Ashley; her maternal grandparents are David Cecil, 3rd Earl of Exeter and Lady Elizabeth Egerton. She had a brother and a sister, named 2nd Earl Shaftsbury Anthony and Lucretia. She is the second oldest of the three children. She had two half-sisters named Lucretia and Penelope.
