Desire was born on May 5th, 1689.  Desire's father was Alexander Standish and her mother was Desire Doty (Standish).  Her paternal grandparents were Myles Standish and Barbara Mullens or Allen; her maternal grandfather was Edward Doty and her maternal grandmother is <Unknown>.  She had two brothers named Thomas and Ichabod.  She was the oldest of the three children.  She had three half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Miles, Ebenezer, David , Lydia, Lora, Mercy, Elizabeth and Sarah.
