West Park Cemetery

West Park Cemetery is a cemetery in Johannesburg, South Africa.

      West Park Cemetery is situated on the corner of Beyers Naude Drive and West Park Rd, and is still in use today. The first burials took place in the cemetery during the early 1940's and some of the war graves are amongst the first graves in their respective sections. The cemetery is divided into a number of areas, each catering to different religions and nationalities. There is an extensive Commonwealth War Graves plot with 472 burials in it, as well as a much smaller SADF Plot and a separate Police Plot. There is a large Jewish section at the cemetery as well as a Holocaust Memorial and the South African Jewish War Memorial.
