Sarah , known as Square, was born on August 28th, 1915 in Benoni.  Square's father was Abe Sandler and her mother was Ella Weinraub.  Her paternal grandparents were Aaron Sandler and Sarah. She had three brothers and a sister, named The Colonel, Max, Norman and Frieda.  She was the third oldest of the five children.  She died due to a medical problem, Parkinson's Disease, at the age of 80 on January 13th, 1996 in Durban.  She was buried at the Redhill Jewish Reform Cemetery.¹
