Samuel, known as Monty, was born on September 11th, 1924 in Johannesburg.  Monty's father was Robert Sandler and his mother was Polly Elaine Orbach.  His paternal grandparents were Samuel Naftaly Hertz Sandler and Annie (Annie ) Leah Katz; his maternal grandparents were Joseph Orbach and Pesa Weinberg. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Norman, Archie, Sylvia, Patsy and Sandler.  He died from a heart attack at the age of 83 on December 11th, 2007.  He was buried on December 12th, 2007 at the Ashdod Cemetery.¹

  Nickname MONTY  Sylvia Rose was 2yrs old when Monty was born, she could not say Shmuel (Samuel) and what came out was “Moontie” (pronounced the way she said it) and that is how “Monty” became his “nick name”story:
  
  His Father used to call him MONTU. Monty did not like that name because it is suggesting Black so at teenage he change it to MONTY.Monty was names after his Paternal Grandfather Samuel Naftaly Hertz Sandler.
  
  Lived at 28 Browning St. in Jeppe Suburb. At the age of 9  broke his leg while falling from the house's kitchen. During his staying in Hospital the family moved (1933) Malvern, 239 Saint Frusquin Street. In Malvern the family lived with his uncles Solly and Simon (Lewis was married)
  
  When WW2 broke down, volunteer to the Army at the age of 16. Served in the South African Air Force  SAAF during WW2 as a Air Mechanic (VM 010821).Served in the 22 Squadron and later moved to the 28 Squadron of the SAAF in Algir.In South Africa was in Swartkop Air Base, Germiston (Rand Airport) Mtubatuba in Zululand, Lusikisiki ponderland. One of the days Monty got a visit from his father in Germiston Airbase. 
  
  In 1944 During WW2 the family moved to Walmer, Port Elizabeth (59 Veillers Road) due to his sister's illness (The doctors recommend fresh sea air Johannesburg is very high). Later lived with his Parents in 1 6th Avnue, Summerstrand, Port Elizabeth. After the war worked in  a Iron Structure Factory Later in Bus Building factory then enters the wool business. In 1952 till 1954 Studied woolen worsted raw materials and wool combing at the Bradford Institute of Technology (Today Bradford University) in Bradford, England and worked in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
  
  After visiting his sister Patsy who served in the Israeli Army in 1961, immigrate to Israel in August 1962. Before Marrige lived in 2/13 Yordei Hasira Street, Ashdod. Worked in Ashdod in worsted industries as a manager of a Card Department.Since 1973 live in 25/12 Rogozin Street and from 1986  in 7/4 Hamifras Street.
  
  Monty had an heart attack on 24.11.2007 . was hospitalized in Kaplan hospital in rechovot.After two weeks died on tuesday 00:20 a:m , bet betevet.Buried in Ashdod Cemetery
