Polly was born on March 22nd, 1898 in Panevezys (Ponevezh).

Polly's father was Joseph Orbach and her mother was Pesa Weinberg.  Her paternal grandparents were Yeshayahu Abraham Orbach and <Unknown>; her maternal grandparents were Pinchas  Eliyahu Weinberg and <Unknown>. She had three brothers named Simon, Lewis and Solly.  She was the oldest of the four children.  She died from a heart attack at the age of 72 on June 1st, 1970 in Port Elizabeth.  She was buried at the Port Elizabeth Jewish Cemetery.¹
