Alice Mary Williams

- Alice on census, and full name obtained from Marriage Index.
  
  Alice was 63 when she was killed, so born about 1877

She died as a war casualty, German Land Mine during a WW2 Air Raid, at the age of 63 on October 17th, 1940 in Port Sunlight, Lower Bebington.¹

Death Notes
- Alice was killed ny a land mine in a German Air Raid in her own house in Boundary Road, Port Sunlight during WW2. She was found on the stairs clutching a blanket. The bedspread was found hanging from a telegraph pole. I have a blue vase from their house (which came via May Dittmer).
  
  Two boarders staying in Port Sunlight village with her had just left the house when the air raid warning went off. By the time thery returned, it was too late.
  
  Tony Beards reports "Alice Dittmer did indeed die in Port Sunlight - but thought it was a retirement home for people who worked for Sunlight Soap"

General Notes
- George and Alice were married in St. Mark, New Ferry. They lived in their own house at 9 Boundary Road, Port Sunlight. Alice was a “perfect lady”.
  
  Alice had a Blue Valse from Germany which survived the bombing of their house in Port Sunlight. It was passed through the Dittmer family, and I now have this valse.

- Alice lived in 9 Boundry Road from after 1935.²
  - Occupancy/Contact Notes
    - George and Alice lived in Boundary Rd., Port Sunlight. This was probably one of Leaver's workers houses.
      The house was hit by a mine during WW2, which killed Alice.
