  • Oscar was 20 in 1911.  Place of birth was recorded as Cheshire, but only the birth record is for Hull.  As Oscar was in a School in Little Crosby, Lancashire in 1901, this seems to be the likely person.
    
    Oscar's parents were Benjamin and Elizabeth.  He was with them in Kingston upon Hull in 1891, aged 7 months.  His father, a master mariner and pilot, aged 50 in 1891, was 21 years older that his mother who was only 29.
    
    He died young, aged only 31 years.  His widow Susannah remarried two years later.
