Calvert Varty Turner

Calvert was born in December 1885 in Birkenhead.¹

Calvert's father was John Turner and his mother was Alice Martha Pritchard. His paternal grandparents were James Turner and Sarah Turner. He had three brothers and a sister, named Tom, Archibald, Ernest and (Sarah). He was the oldest of the five children. He had three half-brothers named William, Richard and John.

- William H Turner and Calvert Turner (another born 1864) were staying with their grandparents James and Sarah Turner in Penrith, Cumberland in 1881
  
  John Turner, aged 15 was lodging with Joseph and Ellen Varity in Liverpool in 1861. Robert and Calvert Varty were also lodgers there. This "Varty" name must be significant, as Calvert Varty Turner was named after them.
  
  Calvert Varty was living in Birkenhead, with his parents John and Alice Martha in 1911, aged 25.
