Lydia was born on June 14th, 1863 in Neston.¹

Birth Notes
- Born: Birkenhead, Cheshire about 1864 according to 1891 census.
  
  All family recorded as from Birkenhead in 1891, but 1901 census shows Lydia is from Neston (and all others from Birkenhead), so this is more likely to be correct.
  
  Ann Hale (nee Brereton) recorded Lydia's birthday as 14 Jun 1863.

Lydia's father was Richard Timmis and her mother was Lydia Woodward. Her paternal grandparents were Richard Timmis and Ellen Lewis; her maternal grandparents were James Woodward and Ann Williams. She had two sisters named Ellen and Ginnie. She was the youngest of the three children. She died at the age of 54 on March 6th, 1918 in Birkenhead. She was buried on March 9th, 1918 at the Flaybrick Memorial Gardens.²³

  The cemeteries office at Landican have confirmed Lydia was burried on 9-Mar-1918. She was the first in a 4-person grave. In the same grave was interned Richard, two years later. The grave is in CoE Section 2, Grave No. 789.

- From 1881 Lydia's occupation was Nurse, Dom Servant full time in health care in Eastham.⁴
  From after 1901 to 1920 her occupation was Publican in accommodation and food services in Birkenhead.²
  - Occupation Notes
    - Richard and Lydia had a pub, "The Red Lion", in Tunnel Road, near the tunnel entrance in Birkenhead. Mum recalls they used to have free pancakes in the Bar on Shrove Tuesday. Richard was "a bit of a drinker", which may have been the cause of an early death.

- Lydia lived on a temporary basis in Eastham from 1881.⁴
