Sara was born about 1716 in Slaithwaite and her christening took place there on October 24th, 1716.1  Sara's father was Edmund Sykes and her mother was Elizabeth Wood.  Her paternal grandparents were Benjamin Sykes and Mrs Benjamin Sykes. She had a brother and a sister, named Joseph and Susanna.  She was the oldest of the three children.  She died due to a childhood disease in February 1723 in Slaithwaite.  She was buried on February 27th, 1723 in Slaithwaite.1 1
