Joseph's father was George W Stocks and his mother was Miriam (Myram) E Hepworth. His paternal grandparents were Benjamin Stocks and Sarah Campinot. He had five brothers and a sister, named Benjamin, James, Job, Silas, Samuel and Mary. He was the second oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 54 on March 16th, 1908 in Illinois (IL).¹
