Jonathon was born on March 8th, 1799 in Huddersfield and his christening took place on April 14th, 1799 at St. Peter (Huddersfield).1   Jonathon's father was Benjamin Stocks and his mother was Ann Walker. He had a brother and a sister, named Benjamin and Elizabeth.  He was the second oldest of the three children.
