Emma was born on March 1st, 1836 in Yorkshire.1   Emma's father was Benjamin Stocks and her mother was Sarah Campinot.  Her paternal grandparents were George Stocks and Mary Blackburn; her maternal grandfather was James Campinot. She had three brothers and three sisters, named George, James, Joseph, Mary, Ellen and Ann.  She was the second youngest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 17 on March 6th, 1853 in Yorkshire.1
