John Sherlock

John was born in 1890 in West Derby.¹ John's father was Samuel Sherlock and his mother was Lydia Eddowes. His maternal grandparents were John Eddowes and Mary Holt. He had three brothers named Thomas, Samuel and Richard. He was the youngest of the four children.

General Notes
- Both parents died soon after John was born.
  
  Richard and baby brother John (aged 1) were paupers, in a home in Fazakerley, Everton in 1891, after both his parents died.
  
  He was probably adopted, as no matching death record for a child in Lancashire in that decade.
