Matthew Mather

Matthew was born in 1825 in Little Hulton and his baptism took place on December 25th, 1825 at Peel Chapel conducted by Curate W. Allen.¹

Matthew's father was William Mather and his mother was Martha Tildsey. His paternal grandparents were Ellis Mather and Ann Thornley; his maternal grandparents were Samuel Tildsey and Martha Mort. He had three brothers and two sisters, named John, Edwin, Samuel, Ann and Alice. He was the third oldest of the six children.

- Possibly died young as not on 1841 census.
  
  Mathew was baptised at Peel CHapel in Little Hulton, wheras his older siblings were baptized in Worsley. Perhaps the family moved (it is only a few miles), or maybe this child is of another family.
