Mary Austin Mather

Mary was born in 1845 in Breightmet.¹

- Recorded as male in 1851 census !

Mary's father was James Mather and her mother was Martha Kay. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Mather and Betty Mather. She had a brother and three sisters, named John, Elizabeth, Ellen and Ann. She was the youngest of the five children.

- Mary lived with her mother till at least 1861. She was gone by 1871.
