Martha was born in 1875 in Bolton.1   Martha's father was William Mather and her mother was Jane Crompton.  Her maternal grandparents were <male> Crompton and Ellen. She had a brother and two sisters, named John, Ellen and Maggie.  She was the second youngest of the four children.
