Maria Mather

Maria was born about 1825 in Turton.¹

- Maria was a minor (undrr 21) in Feb 1846 when she married.
  
  Aged 26 in 1851

Maria's father was Samuel Mather and her mother was Alice Mather. Her paternal grandparents were James Mather and Happy Lomax; her maternal grandparents were William Mather and Betty Holt. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Isaac, William, John, Samuel, George, Ellin, Mary, Alice and Happy. She was the third youngest of the ten children.

- Unconfirmed Daughter.
  
  The marriage record shows Maria's father was Samuel Mather, a Weaver from Turton. Is this the same Samuel Mather, because (Maria was missing on the 1841 census)? Samuel's sister was Maria, so may well have names a daughter after his closest sister.
  
  There was a Maria, baptised 8-Jan-1926 in Ringley, daughter of Samuel Mather and Margaret from Kersley, so this could also be her.
