Elizabeth Dora Inman

Elizabeth was born in July 1880 in Bolton.¹

Elizabeth's father was James Inman and her mother was Ruth Mather. Her paternal grandparents were David Inman and Dorothy Robinson; her maternal grandparents were John Mather and Elizabeth (Eli) Kay. She had a brother and three sisters, named William, Lilian, Sarah and Margaret. She was the oldest of the five children. She died due to a respiratory problem and/or pneumonia, general tubercular exhaustion, at the age of 13 on January 19th, 1894 in Birkenhead. She was buried on January 23rd, 1894 at the Flaybrick Memorial Gardens.²³

  Les was interested in the two Inman children dying in the first quarter of 1894 and decided to find what he could at Birkenhead Library. He first examined the Birkenhead News for January to March 1894. There were no references to two children dying in a fire or any other disaster. He then examined the burial records for Flaybrick Cemetery for the same quarter and found the following:

  Mar 10th   William Inman               aged 8   Abode - 26 Payson Street
  
  Elizabeth Dora Inman died from general tubercular exhaustion on 19.1.1894 in the Borough Hospital, Birkenhead.

- Elizabeth lived at 4 Laburnum St from 1881.⁴

    - Lived at 4 Laburnum St., Little Bolton in 1881.
  She lived at 7 Vine Street for ten years from about 1884 to about 1894.¹

    - Ruth, James and family, including Elizabeth Mather (Widowed) lived at 7 Vine Street, Birkenhead in 1891.
      Elizabeth Mather died at 34 Vine Street in April 1892, so they may have moved up the road.
