Hannah, known as Mather, was born in 1799 in Bolton and her christening took place on December 1st, 1799 at St. Peters (Bolton).1   Mather's father was John Mather and her mother was Ann. She had two brothers and four sisters, named John, Thomas, Ellen, Ellen, Betty and Alice.  She was the youngest of the seven children.
