Elizabeth was born on February 29th, 1836 in Bolton and her christening took place on November 29th, 1836 in Little Bolton.1  Elizabeth's father was James Flitcroft and her mother was Mary Taylor. She had six brothers and two sisters, named John, Seth, Samuel, John, Richard, Joseph, Ellen and Betty.  She was the youngest of the nine children.
