Lilly Ann Marsland Fidler

Lilly was born in 1888 in Glasgow.¹

Birth Notes
- If age at death is correct, then Lily was born in 1883.
  However, she was 13 in 1901 census, so born 1887/8.
  
  Sue’s Nana was a very strong character. A lady from Glasgow. Sue remembers once asking her nana when her birthday was, and she said she could not remember. Sue said look on your birth certificate, but her reply was she never had one as her parents could not afford such things. Her gravestone does not record her date of birth.

Lilly's father was Isaac Marsland Fidler and her mother was Margaret Logan. Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Fidler and Ann Hill. She had five brothers and a sister, named Isaac, Richard, Joseph, John, Albert and Agnes. She was the third oldest of the seven known children. She died at the age of 79 in October 1967 in Manchester.²

    - Doxey family lived in Graver Lane, Newton Heath, Manchester.
      A big detached house next to the main gates of the big park there named Brookdale Park. Sue's only memory of it was the Hallway. It was a bit like the Bronte Vicarage at Haworth, with rooms either side of the hall. It was demolished by the Council as it also had a big garden and the council wanted it for the park (or so they said).
