Albert's father was Isaac Marsland Fidler and his mother was Margaret Logan. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Fidler and Ann Hill. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Isaac, Richard, Joseph, John, Agnes and Lilly. He was the youngest of the seven known children.
