Louisa was born in March 1867 in Birkenhead.1  Louisa's father was Thomas Eddowes and her mother was Mary Ann Hughes.  Her paternal grandparents were John Eddowes and Mary Holt. She had three sisters named Elizabeth, Mary and Minnie.  She was the oldest of the four children.
