Edmund's father was John Samuel Eddowes and his mother was (Sarah) Elizabeth Parry. His paternal grandparents were Edmund (Edwin) Harry Eddowes and Mary Dawson. He was an only child.

General Notes
- Edmund was with parents in Liverpool in 1891, but had left home by 1901. From the 1891 census it appears that Edmund was the son of John and Catherine. However, they only married that year, so must have been from an earlier marriege (or illigitamate).
