Clara was born in March 1875 in Birkenhead.1  Clara's father was John Eddowes and her mother was Phoebe Parry-Pinnington.  Her paternal grandparents were John Eddowes and Mary Holt; her maternal grandparents were William Pinnington and Martha Pinnington. She had a brother and five sisters, named George, Martha, Mary, Emily, Elizabeth and Lilian.  She was the third youngest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 68 in 1943 in Birkenhead.2
