Lawrence, known as Laurie, was born on November 26th, 1914 in Newton Heath.¹

  According to Lil's Birthday Book, Lawrence Doxey was born 26/11/1914 Hulmes Road/Droysden Rd, Newton Heath, Manchester, but in fact it should be 1915 which ties in with BMD record.
  
  Sue has her father's birth certificate which confirms the DOB is 26th November, 1915, Newton Heath, Manchester.

Laurie's father was John Henry Doxey and his mother was Lilly Ann Marsland Fidler. His paternal grandparents were Henry Doxey and Mary Ann Dooley; his maternal grandparents were Isaac Marsland Fidler and Margaret Logan. He had two brothers and a sister, named Eric, Albert and Olive. He was the second youngest of the four children. He died due to diabetes, Diabetic Coma and Pneumonia, at the age of 58 on July 9th, 1973 in Oldham.¹

  Sue's father was born 26th November 1915, Newton Heath, Manchester. She has his birth Certicate as well as her Mother's. On checking through all of these she has noticed that in their upset, of her Father's passing the information, that the wrong birth year was put on the Death Certificate; it reads 1913 not 1915.

General Notes
- Sue's father was born (as was the rest of the Doxey family) in Newton Heath, Manchester in the house on Droysden Road. Sue has a photo of it of the year her Father was born 1914. They still have some furniture from the house, which was demoltioned in the 1960's.
