Ellen, known as Jenny (or Ginnie), was born on August 16th, 1888 in Birkenhead.1  Jenny (or Ginnie)'s father was Richard Brereton and her mother was Lydia Timmis.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard Brereton and Esther Eddowes; her maternal grandparents were Richard Timmis and Lydia Woodward. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Richard, William, Frank, Ethel, Elsie and Lillie.  She was the oldest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 89 on April 5th, 1978 in Tranmere.  The funeral took place on April 10th, 1978 at Grange Baptist Church.  She was cremated on April 10th, 1978 at the Landican Cemetery.2 2
