FRED J. PRUSHA JR.
Funeral rites were Saturday, July 6, 1991 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Chelsea, for Fred J. Prusha Jr., 62, of Chelsea, who died as a result of a farm accident Tuesday, July 2. The Rev. Frank M. Benda officiated. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Chelsea.
Pallbearers were Bill Sankot, John Carlson, Bill Suchanek, Virgil Novotny, Bob Kaufman, Dick Blomme. Honorary pallbearers were George Musel, Charles Musel, Calvin Hilligas, Bernard Upah, Alan Behounek and Larry Frese.
Music was provided by Mrs. Duane Cibula, organist.
Military rites were by Benda-Sell American Legion post 269.
Fred Prusha Jr., was born Oct. 17, 1928 at Chelsea, the son of Frances Stanek Prusha and Fred J. Prusha, Sr. He graduated in 1946 from Chelsea High School. He married Dorothy Hilligas April 29, 1955.
He was a self-employed trucker and farmer, and had retired after 27 years as a volunteer with the Chelsea Fire Department.
Fred Prusha Jr., was in the United States Army in 1949 and served in Germany during the Korean conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, two daughters, Cathy McFarland, Fredricksburg, and Theresa Prusha, Waukegan, Ill.; and a son, Richard Prusha, Chelsea; also three grandchildren, Kyle Prusha, Kaytlen Prusha, and Robert McFarland; and step-grandchildren, Keri, Shelley, Laura, Kim, and Daniel McFarland.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Hrabak Funeral Home, Chelsea, was in charge of arrangements.
