•Event: Obituary 1928 Chester, Thayer, NE •Note: see general notes •Change Date: 5 Jul 2003 at 20:46 •Note: Paben's death was reported in the Chester newspaper and his obituary was printed as follows: "Paebe Tammen Trauernicht was born March 16, 1843 in Aurich, Oldendorf, Germany. When about 22 years old he came with his parents to America and they made their home at Petersburg, Ill. Toward the close of the Civil War he moved to Nebraska, near Humboldt. For two years he did carpenter work in Nebraska City, and from there moved to Craig, Mo., where he stayed about ten years. From Craig, Mo., he moved to Byron, Neb., and in 1912 to Chester, where he made his home the remainder of his life, passing away December 28, 1928. In 1872 he was united in marriage to Katherine Leunsmann, and the following children were given to them; Mrs. W. E. Mitchell and Mrs. H. K. Vorderstrasse of Chester. Tammen P. Trauernicht and John Trauernicht of Haxton, Colo; Mrs. Dora Marquardt deceased, Mrs. Joe Gumm of Echley Colo; Mrs. G Collman and Mrs. B. Scheele of Deshler. Funeral services were held at the home in St. Johns Lutheran Church and interment in the Lutheran cemetery."
