Her paternal grandparents were Urias E. Straight and Diana Hayes; her maternal grandparents were William Harvey McLain and Lydia Antoinette Whitcomb. She had five brothers and six sisters, named Clifford Ferris, Walter, Horace Arthur, Harry Theodore, Wilford H, Alma, Stella Mae, Ada Luella, Nora Leota, Gladys E. and Lella A. She died at the age of 98 on June 13th, 1998 in Sidney, Cheyenne, Nebraska, USA. She was buried in Greenwood Cemetery (Nebraska).-
