Elisha L. was born on November 30th, 1871 in Alabama, USA.1   Elisha L.'s father was Moses Sanders and his mother was Caroline Reed.  His paternal grandparents are James Sanders and Louisa R. Coleman; his maternal grandparents are Absalom Reed and Mary A.. He had four brothers and four sisters, named James Martin, Moses Nathaniel, Albert Meranas, Wesley Andrew "Andy", Martha Paralee, Vicey, Mary Anne and Serena Adline.  He was the fourth youngest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 81 on December 18th, 1952 in Sumiton, Walker, Alabama, USA.  He was buried in Sardis Cemetery.2
