John Henry was born on September 13th, 1854 in Indiana, USA.1   John Henry's father was Jonathan Jefferson Hinkle and his mother was Catharine Lentz.  His paternal grandfather was Anthony Hinkle and his paternal grandmother is Barbary (Barbara) Seitz. He had four brothers and five sisters, named William Jefferson, Isaac W, Jonathan M, James, Delilah, Elizabeth, Mary, Margaret Ann "Maggie" and Catherine.  He was the second youngest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 80 on January 20th, 1935 in Bloomington, Monroe, Indiana, USA.  He was buried in Bethel Cemetery (aka Mount Bethel).2
