Mathew was born in 1623 in England.  Mathew's father was Edmund Farrington and his mother was Elizabeth Newhall.  His maternal grandfather is Newhall. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Edward, John, Thomas, Elizabeth and Sarah.  He died at the age of 77 in January 1700 in Lynn, Essex, Massachusetts, USA.
