Martha was born on October 13th, 1836 in Alabama, USA.1   Martha's father was Rev. Robert Davis and her mother was Zilpha Snow.  Her paternal grandparents were William Davis and Martha Howard; her maternal grandparents are thomas snow and mary cynthia gooch. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Thomas J., Davis, Wiley, James Monroe, Jesse Tyre, Louisa Catherine, Nancy A. and Mary "Polly".  She was the fourth oldest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 84 on October 14th, 1920 in Walker County, Alabama, USA.  She was buried on October 15th, 1920 in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.2 3
