John "the Elder" was born in 1521 in Over Stowey, Somerset, England.1   John "the Elder"'s father was Humphrey Blake and his mother was Agnes.  His paternal grandparents are William Blake and Mary Coles. He had three brothers and three sisters, named John "the Younger", Robert, Thomas, Agnes, Eleanor and Alice.  He died at the age of 55 on December 10th, 1576 in Over Stowey, Somerset, England.  He was buried in St Peter and St Paul Churchyard.1 2
