Ellen Furey

Ellen was born on September 17th, 1864 in Gurrane and her baptism took place on September 18th, 1864 in Oranmore.¹   Her godfather was John Fahy and her godmother was Mary Finighty.  Ellen's father was Thomas (Tom) Furey and her mother was Anne  Warde. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Ned, Martin, Thomas, Margaret, Eliza and Bridget.  She was the second youngest of the seven children.
