Dirck was born on August 20th, 1651 in New Amsterdam,New Netherland.  Dirck's father was Schipper Laurens Corneliszen Van der Wel and his mother is Lysbeth THYS.  His maternal grandfather was Claes THYSSEN and his maternal grandmother is UNknown.  He had a sister named Thys.  He was the younger of the two children.  He had a half-sister named Aafje.  Dirck is no longer alive.
