Casparus was born in 1762 in Rhinebeck, Dutchess, NY, USA.  Casparus' father was Simeon Freer and his mother was Catrina Van Benschoten.  He had five brothers and five sisters, named Elias, Petrus, Simon, Jonathan, Johannes, Sara, Elizabeth, Catherine, Jacomyntje and Geertje.  He is the tenth oldest of the eleven children.
